Why can’t I see the AirPods charging-case battery in AirBuddy?
AirBuddy displays a charging-case battery only when the case reports it.
Most AirPods cases don’t include an independent Bluetooth radio and rely on the earbuds to transmit their status. Put both earbuds in the case and open the lid near the Mac to request an update.
Some recent cases, including supported AirPods Pro 2 and 3 cases, can report without the earbuds inside. For these cases, open AirBuddy settings, select Action HUD, then turn on Control with empty charging case.
Case information can disappear after the lid has been closed for a while. This is expected and helps preserve battery life.
Independent charging case information can only be reported if the AirPods have been paired on a device with the same Apple Account as the one you use on your Mac.
